  ‘I am especially interested in creating performances that inspire the imagination and dreams of my audience, using a variety of disciplines – circus, aerials, theatre, song, dance, puppetry….’



Pipi-Ayesha Evans is a circus and physical theatre performer. She works for Empess Stiltdance, and is a member of Ake Ake Theatre Company.  She has trained in circus, (CircoArts, 2 year diploma, majoring in aerials), and theatre, (Otago University, BA, in Theatre).

 

She has recently completed an internship with Zen Zen Zo Physical Theatre (in Brisbane), and over the past couple of years she has been touring Australia with Ashton Entertainment.

Recent productions include Ship Song, and Our Secret Garden (Ake Ake Theatre Company), Maui-One Man Against The Gods, Heavenly Burlesque, and World of Wearable Arts. She has performed extensively throughout New Zealand, both in theatrical productions and at numerous corporate functions. She has also performed internationally, in Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Australia with Empress Stiltdance.

In 2011, Pipi toured in Nepal, with the Roof Of The World Tour - performing and teaching circus around remote Nepalese villages. See:  www.roofoftheworldtour.com.au for more information about this project.

In 2008, she performed on a trapeze, suspended off a hot air balloon, at the Wairarapa and Waikato balloon festivals.

Pipi-Ayesha performs a range of circus skills, including many aerial acts, stilts, acrobalance, and poi. She also acts, sings and is a puppeteer, and teaches circus to both adults and children.


She is currently making her own solo circus/theatre show - The Blue-Bearded Lady
